Ireland, where she was born and lived until the age of 23, is one of the two major influences in Flo's art. The other is New England, where she has lived for most of her adult life.
In keeping with her passion for trees, her newest work represents close- up images of flowing branches and brilliantly colored leaves. Adept in both watercolor and oil, Flo emphasizes creating atmosphere in her work rather than strict realism.
That atmosphere, simultaneously calming and uplifting has caused her works to be displayed by medical buildings in the Boston area. Her most recent Foliage Collection was chosen by South Shore Hospital for its new Emerson Wing which opened in January 2013.
Flo's original paintings and reproductions are held in private collections in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom and Germany.
'Always my purpose is that my paintings create in the viewer a calmness a sense of peace, in our all too fast - paced world'
